編之（畢綿反劉兆注公羊傳云編者比連也淮南子許叔重注云編猶列也聲類以繩編次之說文次簡也從糸扁聲）。

Biānzhī (編之, compile / weave it; fanqie [bì + mián]; Liu Zhao's commentary on the Gongyang Zhuan states: "Biān (編) means to arrange in sequence and join together." Xu Shuzhong's commentary on the Huainanzi states: "Biān is like liè (列, to set in order)." The Shenglei states: "Arranging in order with cords." The Shuowen states: "Arranging bamboo slips in order"; it takes '糸' (silk) with '扁' as phonetic).
