謙愙（上康各反孔注尚書恪敬也古今正字從心客聲案字書正作愙也經文作恪俗字亦通）。

Modest and reverent (謙愙: the second character has the fanqie 康各 [kāng + gè -> kè]; Kong's commentary on the *Shangshu* says: "*Ke* (恪) means reverence." The *Gujin zhengzi* has it with the 'mind' radical and *ke* (客) phonetic. Examining the character dictionaries, it is properly written as 愙; the sūtra text writes it as the vulgar character 恪, which is also acceptable).
