齦齧（上坤穩反考聲云齦䶧也說文齦亦齧也從齒艮聲經文作齧非也下研結反前已頻釋訓）。

Gnawing and biting (齦齧: the first character has the fanqie 坤穩 [kūn + wěn -> kěn]; the *Kaosheng* says: "*Ken* (齦) means gnawing." The *Shuowen [jiezi]* says: "*Ken* also means biting; it takes the 'teeth' radical with *gen* (艮) phonetic." In the sūtra text it is written as 齧, which is incorrect. The second character has the fanqie 研結 [yán + jié -> niè]; its gloss has already been frequently explained previously).
