亹亹 (upper character: *wei* + *fei* fanqie; Liu Huan's commentary to the *Zhouyi* says: '亹亹 means subtle and wonderful.' The *Erya* says: '亹亹 means to strive.' The *Kaosheng* says: 'Fine, beautiful.' The *Gujin zhengzi* says: 'To advance; derived from 且 with the abbreviated phonetic component 爨.' The pronunciation of 爨 is *qi* + *luan* fanqie).
