杪生（上妙縹反鄭注禮記云杪小也又云樹枝末也郭璞枝梢頭也從木少聲梢音所交反亦是枝盡處也）。

杪生 (The first character has the fanqie 妙縹 [miǎo]. Zheng's commentary on the Liji says: "杪 means tiny; it also means the tip of a tree branch." Guo Pu says: "The tip of a branch; composed of 木 with 少 phonetic." 梢 has the fanqie 所交 [shāo], which also means the tip of a branch).
