荷擔（上恒餓反字書荷負也下當貪反或從人作儋同廣雅擔助也考聲儋負也字書擔荷也從手詹聲也經中有從木作檐非也檐音鹽舍檐也非此義也）。

荷擔 (the first character is the fanqie 恒 + 餓 [hè]; dictionaries: "荷 means to carry on the shoulder." The second is the fanqie 當 + 貪 [dān]; also written with the person radical as 儋, which is identical. The Guangya: "擔 means to assist." The Kaosheng: "儋 means to shoulder." Dictionaries: "擔 means to shoulder; from 手 [hand] with 詹 providing the sound." In sūtras it is sometimes written with the wood radical as 檐, which is incorrect; 檐 is pronounced like 鹽 [yán], meaning the eaves of a house, which is not the meaning here).
