慙恥（上藏南反尚書唯慚德是也說文慚愧也從心斬聲也下癡里反考聲恥辱也字書羞恥也衛宏從言作誀古字也癡音丑之反）。

Shame and humiliation (慙恥: the upper character is zang-nan [fanqie]. In the Shangshu: "Only ashamed in virtue." The Shuowen says: "慚 means shame and remorse. It takes its semantic classifier from 心 'mind' and 斬 is the phonetic." The lower character is chi-li [fanqie]. The Kaosheng says: "恥 means disgrace." The Zishu says: "恥 means shame." Wei Hong writes it with 言 'speech' as 誀, an ancient character. 癡 has the phonetic reading chou-zhi [fanqie]).
