皎潔（上經曉反毛詩傳曰晈光也方言明也說文從白作皎下堅嚙反考聲清也靜也從水絜聲也）。

Pure and bright (皎潔: the first character is pronounced 經 + 曉 fanqie; the Mao Commentary on the Classic of Poetry says: 晈 means light; Fangyan says: bright; Shuowen writes it with bai [白] as 皎; the second character is pronounced 堅 + 嚙 fanqie; Kaosheng says: pure; quiet; it takes shui [水] as its classifier and 絜 as its phonetic).
