緝而編之（上侵入反鄭箋毛詩云緝猶續也爾雅光也說文績也從糸咠聲咠音同上下必綿反劉兆注公羊傳云編即比連也蒼頡篇云織也說文次簡也從糸扁聲也扁音邊沔反）。

緝而編之 (The first character has the fanqie qin + ru. Zheng's Subcommentary on the Mao Shijing says: "Qī is like continuing." The Erya says: "Brilliance." The Shuowen says: "To spin threads." It takes the silk classifier with qī as phonetic; qī is pronounced the same as above. The second character has the fanqie bi + mian. Liu Zhao's commentary on the Gongyang zhuan says: "Biān means to arrange together continuously." The Cangjie pian says: "To weave." The Shuowen says: "To arrange bamboo slips in sequence." It takes the silk classifier with biǎn as phonetic; biǎn has the fanqie bian + mian.)
