Anvil and hammer (the first character has the fanqie: zhi + jin; the Cang Jie pian writes it as 椹, and 椹 refers to an iron [anvil]. The Kaosheng states: "A type of low table." Lexicons also write it with radical pu [to strike] as [敲-高+(甚-儿+人)], which also means an anvil-base. The second character has the fanqie: chong + zhui; the Kaosheng states: "Chui means an iron hammer." Lexicons write it with radical mu [wood] as 椎, which is synonymous with the character 鎚. Considering the Liu Tao of Taigong, it states: "A square-headed iron hammer weighing eight catties with a five-foot handle." Gu Yewang states: "A hammer is an implement used to strike things." In the catalogue it is written as 枯磓, which is a popular variant form).
