傲𰒢（上敖誥反孔注尚書云傲慢不友也杜注左傳云不敬也廣雅云慢也說文云敖倨也從人敖聲也下眠閇反閇邊篾反毛詩傳云𰒢猶輕也賈注云𰒢未也說文輕㑥也從心篾聲）。

Arrogant and contemptuous (the first character has the fanqie: ao + gao; Kong's commentary to the Shangshu states: "Ao means arrogant and unfriendly." Du's commentary to the Zuozhuan states: "Disrespectful." The Guangya states: "Haughty." The Shuowen jiezi states: "Ao means haughty; analyzed from radical ren [person] with ao providing the sound." The second character has the fanqie: mian + bi; the character bi has the fanqie: bian + mie; the Mao Commentary to the Shijing states: "Mie is like slighting." Jia's commentary states: "Mie means dismissive." The Shuowen jiezi states: "To slight and make light of; analyzed from radical xin [heart] with mie providing the sound").
