輟軫（上轉劣反鄭注論語云輟猶止也爾雅云已也已音以古今正字云車聲小缺也從車叕同音下真忍反許叔重曰軫猶重也鄭玄注考功記云軫者輿後橫木也太玄經云軫轉其道也宋忠曰猶展也說文從車㐱聲㐱音同上錄文作軫俗字也）。

輟軫 (the first character is *zhu[ǎn]-liè* fanqie; Zheng [Xuan]'s commentary on the *Analects* says: “*Chuò* (輟) is like stopping.” The *Erya* says: “Ceased.” ‘Ceased’ (已) is pronounced *yǐ*. The *Gujin zhengzi* says: “A carriage sound slightly interrupted. It is composed of ‘carriage’ (車) and *zhuò* (叕) homophonous.” The second character is *zh[ēn]-rěn* fanqie; Xu Shen says: “*Zhěn* (軫) is like heavy.” Zheng Xuan's commentary on the *Kaogongji* says: “*Zhěn* is the transverse timber at the back of a carriage.” The *Taixuanjing* says: “Turning (*zhěn*) its path.” Song Zhong says: “Like revolving.” The *Shuowen jiezi* says it is composed of ‘carriage’ (車) with *zhěn* (㐱) as phonetic; *zhěn* is pronounced same as above. The text of the catalogue writes it as 軫, which is a vulgar character).
