梗槩（上更幸反爾雅云梗猶直也司馬彪注莊子云梗直士說文從木更聲下陔代反鄭注禮記云槩平也班固東都賦云粗為賓言其梗槩𦵮綜云謂不纖密也說文從木既聲）。

梗槩 (the first character is *g[èng]-xìng* fanqie; the *Erya* says: “*Gěng* (梗) is like upright.” Sima Biao's commentary on the *Zhuangzi* says: “An upright gentleman.” The *Shuowen jiezi* says it is composed of ‘tree’ (木) with *gèng* (更) as phonetic. The second character is *g[āi]-dài* fanqie; Zheng [Xuan]'s commentary on the *Book of Rites* says: “*Gài* (槩) means even/level.” Ban Gu's *Eastern Capital Rhapsody* says: “To speak roughly of its general outline (*gěnggài*) for the guests.” Fan Zong says: “It means not minute and detailed.” The *Shuowen jiezi* says it is composed of ‘tree’ (木) with *jì* (既) as phonetic).
