箴規（上執深反孔注尚書云箴猶規也賈注國語云箴教也杜注左傳云戒也說文從竹咸聲會意字）。

箴規 (the first character is *zh[í]-shēn* fanqie; Kong [Anguo]'s commentary on the *Book of Documents* says: “*Zhēn* (箴) is like admonishing.” Jia [Kui]'s commentary on the *Discourses of the States* says: “*Zhēn* means teaching.” Du [Yu]'s commentary on the *Zuo tradition* says: “Admonition.” The *Shuowen jiezi* says it is composed of ‘bamboo’ (竹) and *xián* (咸) as phonetic, being an associative compound character).
