乃縶（下砧立反杜注左傳縶猶執也范寗注穀梁云𥾫也古今正字云縶之維之猶𥾫也從系從執正縶字或作馽音同）。

乃縶 (the second character is *zh[ēn]-lì* fanqie; Du [Yu]'s commentary on the *Zuo tradition* says: “*Zhí* (縶) is like seizing.” Fan Ning's commentary on the *Guliang* says: “Tying up.” The *Gujin zhengzi* says: “Tethering and binding it is like tying up. Composed of ‘silk’ (系) and ‘holding’ (執), this is the standard form of *zhí* (縶); it is also written as 馽, with the same sound”).
