調戲（上迢笑反廣雅調猶嘲也又訓欺也說文從言周聲錄文從手作掉誤下希意反毛詩傳云戲猶逸豫也郭注爾雅云戲嘲戲也廣雅云邪也說文從戈䖒聲䖒音希也）。

調戲 (the first character is *ti[áo]-xiào* fanqie; the *Guangya* says: “*Tiáo* (調) is like mocking; it is also glossed as deceiving.” The *Shuowen jiezi* says it is composed of ‘speech’ (言) with *zhōu* (周) as phonetic. The text of the catalogue writes it with the ‘hand’ radical as 掉, which is an error. The second character is *x[ī]-yì* fanqie; the *Mao Commentary to the Classic of Poetry* says: “*Xì* (戲) is like recreation and leisure.” Guo [Pu]'s commentary on the *Erya* says: “*Xì* means teasing and joking.” The *Guangya* says: “Deviant.” The *Shuowen jiezi* says it is composed of ‘halberd’ (戈) with *xī* (䖒) as phonetic. 䖒 is pronounced *xī*).
