訛舛（上臥戈反孔注尚書云訛化也考聲云謬也古今正字從言從化會意字字書正從言作為譌音義並同下舛穿兖反顧野王云舛差不齊也說文云舛對臥也從夕[(巨-匚)*(十/十)]相背也夕音雖[(巨-匚)*(十/十)]誇化反）。

訛舛 (The first character has the fanqie wo4-ge1. Kong's commentary on the Classic of Documents says: '訛 means to transform.' The Kaosheng says: 'It means erroneous.' The Gujin zhengzi states: 'It is derived from yán [言] and huà [化]: an ideogrammic compound.' The character books take the form derived from yán [言] with wéi [為] as 譌 to be correct; pronunciation and meaning are both the same. For the second character, with the fanqie chuan1-yan3, Gu Yewang says: '舛 means mismatched and uneven.' The Shuowen jiezi says: '舛 means lying with the feet opposing each other; it is derived from xī [夕] and [(巨-匚)*(十/十)] facing away from one another.' 夕 is pronounced suī, and [(巨-匚)*(十/十)] has the fanqie kua1-hua4).
