淖泥（儜孝反廣雅云淖猶埿也眾也鄭注儀禮云普大也淖和也淮南子云水以其淖溺潤滑也聲類云淖猶溺也古今正字從水卓聲也）。

淖泥 (Pronounced with the fanqie 儜 + 孝. The Guangya states: "Nao is like mud [埿]; it also means multitude." Zheng's commentary to the Yili states: "It means widespread and large; nao means harmonious." The Huainanzi states: "Water is moist and slippery due to its slushiness [淖溺]." The Shenglei states: "Nao is like immersion [溺]." The Gujin zhengzi states: "It is formed from 'water' [水] with 'eminent' [卓] as phonetic").
