剡木 (With the fanqie yan2-ran3. The Erya says: '剡 means sharp.' The Picang says: 'It means to plane.' The Book of Changes says: 'They whittled wood into oars.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'To sharpen it and make it keen: a phono-semantic character').
