Suspicion and jealousy (猜忌: the first character is pronounced *cai* + *zai* [cāi]. Du [Yu]'s commentary on the *Zuo tradition* says: 'Like suspicion (疑).' The *Fangyan* says: 'Hatred.' The *Shuowen jiezi* says: '猜 means hatred and harm; it is formed from the "dog" radical (犬) with *qing* (青) as the phonetic component.').
