赭堊（上音者考聲云赤色也慙也慙必面赤也下音惡阿各反郭注山海經云堊似土白色考聲云塗也從亞從土）。

赭堊 (red and white clays): The first character is pronounced zhě. The Kaosheng says: "Red colour; shame; when one feels shame one's face necessarily turns red." The second character is pronounced è, the fanqie 阿 (ē) + 各 (gè) [è]. Guo's commentary on the Shanhaijing says: "堊 is a white, earth-like mineral." The Kaosheng says: "To daub. It takes 亞 and 土 as components."
