汩淴（上古筆反漢書音義云汩流急貌方言疾也古今正字從水曰聲下溫骨反考聲云淴決水貌）。

Rushing torrent (the upper character is pronounced with the fanqie 古筆 [k- + -it = kit]. The Hanshu yinyi says: "汩 describes the swift flow of water." The Fangyan says: "Fast." The Gujin zhengzi gives it as composed of 水 with 曰 as phonetic. The lower character is pronounced with the fanqie 溫骨 [w- + -wət = wət]. The Kaosheng says: "淴 describes water bursting through").
