Misled and mistaken (詿誤: the upper [character 詿 is] guan-mai fan [guà]; the lower [character 誤 is] wu-gu fan [wù]. The Hanshu says: “Those who were misled by an edict of amnesty.” The Shuowen [jiezi] says that both characters are formed with 言 ('speech'), with gui and wu both phonetic. In the text of the treatise, written with 心 as 忤 is an error).
