懋績（上矛后反范甯云懋勉也郭注爾雅云自勉強也說文從心楙音同上聲也下精歷反穀梁傳云功勞也又曰功業也說文從糸責聲也）。

Grand achievements (懋績: the upper [character 懋 is] mao-hou fan [mào]. Fan Ning says: “Mao means to exert oneself.” Guo [Pu]'s commentary on the Erya says: “To make oneself strive.” The Shuowen [jiezi] says: “Formed with 心 ('heart') and mao, pronounced the same as above, phonetic.” The lower [character 績 is] jing-li fan [jì]. The Guliang zhuan says: “Meritorious labor.” It also says: “Meritorious deeds.” The Shuowen [jiezi] says: “Formed with 糸 ('silk') and ze phonetic.”).
