縱汰（上足用反孔注尚書云放縱情欲也說文從系從聲下他蓋反淮南子云深則汰五藏廣雅云汰洗也說文從水太聲）。

Indulged and licentious (縱汰, the first char. fanqie: 足用; Kong's commentary on the Shangshu says, 'Giving free rein to desires and passions.' The Shuowen jiezi says it is formed from 系 with 從 as phonetic. The second char. fanqie: 他蓋; the Huainanzi says, 'When it is deep, it washes away (汰) the five viscera.' The Guangya says, '汰 means to wash.' The Shuowen jiezi says it is formed from 水 with 太 as phonetic).
