禘郊（上啼帝反鄭注周禮記云禘火祭名也杜注左傳云三年喪畢新死之主祔於廟於廟遠主當遷入祧因是大祭謂之禘說文亦歲一祭也從示帝聲祔音附）。

禘郊 (The first syllable has the fanqie 啼帝 [dì]. Zheng [Xuan's] commentary to the Zhouli ji says: "禘 [dì] is the name of a fire sacrifice." Du [Yu's] commentary to the Zuo zhuan says: "When the three-year mourning is concluded, the spirit tablet of the newly deceased is appended to the ancestral temple; when an ancestral tablet of remote antiquity is to be shifted to the distant shrine (tiaoci), a grand sacrifice is held on this occasion and called 禘 [dì]." The Shuowen jiezi also says: "A sacrifice held once a year." It takes 示 [shì] as semantic and 帝 [dì] as phonetic. 祔 has the fanqie 附 [fù].)
