黃鉞（下爰月反考聲作戉大斧也司馬法周左杖黃鉞是也蒼頡篇云鉞斧也孔注尚書云以黃金飾斧也說文從金戉聲戉音同上）。

黃鉞 (The second syllable has the fanqie 爰月 [yuè]. The Kaosheng writes it 戉, meaning a great battle-axe. The Sima fa says: "The king of Zhou held the yellow battle-axe in his left hand," which is this. The Cangjiepian says: "鉞 [yuè] means an axe." Kong [Anguo's] commentary to the Shangshu says: "An axe decorated with yellow gold." The Shuowen jiezi says it takes 金 [jīn] as semantic and 戉 [yuè] as phonetic. 戉 has the same pronunciation as above.)
