家牒（恬叶反考聲云牒簡䟽也札之相連者也漢書云披圖案牒蘇林云牒譜名也說文亦札也從片枼聲也）。

家牒 (The fanqie is 恬叶 [dié]. The Kaosheng says: "牒 [dié] means slips and documents; writing slips joined together." The Hanshu speaks of 'opening charts and examining registers'. Su Lin says: "牒 is the name of a genealogy." The Shuowen jiezi also says: "A writing slip." It takes 片 [piàn] as semantic and 枼 [yè] as phonetic.)
