髡頭(上困魂反考聲云髡刑名去其髮也鄭注周禮云髡頭而已說文從髟兀聲髟音標論從長作[肆-聿+兀]俗字略也)。
Shaved head (髡頭: the first [character] is *kun-hun* [k- + -ūn = kūn] in fanqie; the Kaosheng says: “髡 is the name of a penal punishment, shaving away the hair.” Zheng’s commentary on the Rites of Zhou says: “Simply shaving the head.” The Shuowen says: “Categorized under 髟 with 兀 as phonetic; 髟 is pronounced *biao* [biāo].” In the treatise it is written with 長 as [肆-聿+兀], which is an abbreviated vulgar character).
