Myriad pipes / plants (萬藾): [The second character is pronounced] *lai* + *dai* fan. The Yunquan says: '藾 means grass.' Gu Yewang's Yupian says: 'It belongs to the genus of mugwort; *laihao* is *xuehao* (wormwood).' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'It is formed with [the semantic classifier] grass (草) and the phonetic component *lai* (賴).'
