Faint and minute (w- + [f]ei [wěi]; Liu Xian's commentary to the Book of Changes says: “'Weiwei' is like subtle/faint.” The commentary to the Mao classic of Poetry says: “To make an effort.” The Han Poetry Outer Commentary says: “To advance.” The Songs of Chu says: “To exert effort and restrain within.” The Gujin zhengzi gives it as following 酉 and an abbreviated form of 爨).
