Spiritual pattern (m- + [b]u [mú]; the Picang says: “To model the shape of an object.” The Guangya also says: “A shape and pattern.” The Shuowen says: “A standard / method; it follows 木 (wood) with 莫 as phonetic.” In the transmission text it is written with the hand radical as 摸, which is interchangeably used).
