踧踖（上子育反下精亦反考聲云踧踖行不進也廣雅云畏敬也馬融注論語恭敬貌也說文踧踖行平易也二字並從足叔昔皆聲傳文作跗俗字也）。

Respectful and uneasy (踧踖: the first character has the fanqie 子 + 育. The second character has the fanqie 精 + 亦. The Kaosheng says: "Cùjí means walking without advancing." The Guangya says: "In awe and reverent." Ma Rong's commentary on the Analects says: "An appearance of reverent respect." The Shuowen jiezi says: "Cùjí means walking evenly and easily." Both characters take 足 as semantic classifier, with 叔 and 昔 as their respective phonetic components. The transmitted text writes it as 跗, which is a vulgar character).
