鑿壙(上音昨下苦謗反廣雅空也案壙者坎也約山鑿坎為墓曰壙平地為墳曰塚塚深壙淺從土廣聲也亦名坎也)。

鑿壙 (the first character is pronounced zuó; the second has the fanqie: 苦 + 謗 [kuàng]). The Guangya says: 'Empty.' Note that a kuàng is a pit (坎); cutting a pit into a mountain to make a grave is called a kuàng, while building an earthen mound on level ground is called a zhǒng (塚). A zhǒng is deep and a kuàng is shallow. It takes 土 as radical and 廣 as phonetic; it is also called a kǎn (pit).
