漉水（上聾穀反顧野王云灑猶瀝也廣雅漉盡也案漉水者今之沙門以羅濾水以護生去穢故也說文從水從鹿聲也）。

漉水 (the first character has the fanqie: 聾 + 穀 [lù]). Gu Yewang says: 'Shǎ is like straining.' The Guangya says: 'Lù means completely drained.' Note that 'filtering water' (lùshuǐ) refers to the present practice of śramaṇas filtering water with a silk strainer in order to protect living beings and remove impurities. The Shuowen [indicates that] it takes 水 as radical and 鹿 as phonetic).
