淵粹（上一玄反下雖醉反王弼注周易云精純也廣雅云純也說文云粹不雜也從米卒聲或從目作睟音訓同）。

淵粹 (Deep and pure): The first character is read fanqie *y[ī]-[x]uán* [yuān]. The second character is read fanqie *su[ī]-[zu]ì* [cuì]. Wang Bi's commentary on the *Zhouyi* states: 'It means refined and pure.' The *Guangya* states: 'It means pure.' The *Shuowen jiezi* states: '粹 (*cuì*) means unadulterated; it is classified under the radical *mǐ* (rice) with *zú* (卒) phonetic; it is also written with the eye radical as 睟, with the same pronunciation and meaning.'
