酬[利-禾+((對-寸)/口)]（上時周反爾雅云酬報也郭注云酬相報荅也鄭注禮記云酬之言周也謂忠信為周說文獻也從酉州聲又古作醻傳文從言作詶俗字下正對字丵音士角反傳文作對俗字也）。

酬[利-禾+((對-寸)/口)] (Repaying and responding): The first character is read fanqie *sh[í]-[zh]ōu* [chóu]. The *Erya* states: '酬 (*chóu*) means to repay.' Guo's commentary states: '酬 means to reciprocate and answer.' Zheng's commentary on the *Liji* states: 'The word 酬 is equivalent to *zhōu* (周), referring to loyalty and trustworthiness being comprehensive.' The *Shuowen jiezi* states: 'To offer; it is classified under the radical *yǒu* (wine vessel) with *zhōu* (州) phonetic.' In ancient script it was also written as 醻. Transmitted texts write it with the speech radical as 詶, which is a vulgar character. The second character is the correct form of 對 (*duì*); 丵 is read fanqie *sh[ì]-[ji]ǎo*. Transmitted texts write 對, which is a vulgar character.
