勔俛（上綿褊反下音免毛詩傳云勔俛勉力也桂苑珠叢亦勉也考聲云勔俛猶不倦也古今正字從力面聲並形聲字傳文從黽作僶通也）。

Exerting effort (for the first [character 勔], m- + [b]ian [miǎn]; the second [character 俛] is pronounced mian [miǎn]; the commentary to the Mao classic of Poetry says: “'Mianmian' means exerting strength.” The Guiyuan zhucong also says: “To make an effort.” The Kaosheng says: “'Mianmian' is like untiring.” The Gujin zhengzi gives both as phono-semantic characters following 力 (strength) with 面 as their phonetic. In the transmission text it is written following 黽 as 僶, which is interchangeable).
