Jichu melody (激楚; the first character is pronounced jī [jī]; the name of a guqin melody. Sima Biao's commentary on Zhuangzi says: 'A surging sound is called jī.' The Songs of Chu says that the sound is clear and penetrating everywhere. Wang Yi says: 'Jī means moved; a pictophonetic character.').
