淼漫（上妙褾反考聲云水廣大貌也韻英云大水也從三水傳文從水作渺亦通下滿半反何注公羊傳漫徧也顧野王云不可分別廣雅平也楚辭長也古今正字從水曼聲）。

淼漫 [Vast and boundless] (The first character has the fanqie miào + biǎo. *Kaosheng* states: "The appearance of water being vast and expansive." *Yunying* states: "Great water." It is formed with three 'water' radicals. In the transmission of the text it is written with 'water' as 渺, which is also acceptable. The second character has the fanqie mǎn + bàn. He [Xiu]'s commentary on the *Gongyang zhuan* states: "*Man* means everywhere." Gu Yewang states: "Indistinguishable." The *Guangya* states: "Level." The *Chuci* states: "Long." The *Gujin zhengzi* states: "It is formed with 'water' and has *màn* as phonetic.").
