諳篆隷（上暗含反埤蒼諳誦也爾雅諷也次傳免反史籀著大篆秦相李斯作小篆說文引書也從竹彖聲彖音脫亂反下黎帝反程邈作隷書變李斯小篆為隷或作隷說文從𰧭隶聲也）。

諳篆隷 [versed in seal and clerical scripts] (The first character is pronounced with the fanqie 暗含 [ān]. The Picang says: '諳 means to recite.' The Erya says: 'To intone.' The second character is pronounced with the fanqie 傳免 [zhuàn]. Shi Zhou composed the great seal script, and Li Si, Chancellor of Qin, composed the small seal script. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'To stretch out characters; it derives from 竹 [bamboo] with 彖 as phonetic.' 彖 is pronounced with the fanqie 脫亂 [tuàn]. The third character is pronounced with the fanqie 黎帝 [lì]. Cheng Miao created clerical script, altering Li Si's small seal script to become clerical. It is also written as 隷. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'It derives from 𰧭 with 隶 as phonetic').
