蓼莪（上音陸毛詩傳曰蓼蓼長大貌也下音蛾郭注爾雅云莪蒿也毛詩有蘿莪女蘿蓼莪形聲字也）。

蓼莪 (The upper character has the sound 陸 [lù]. The Mao commentary to the Shijing says: "蓼蓼 describes being tall and large." The lower character has the sound 蛾 [é]. Guo's commentary to the Erya says: "莪 is mugwort." The Mao Shijing has 'Luo'e' [Dodder and mugwort] and 'Liao'e' [Tall mugwort]; they are phono-semantic characters.)
