湛露 'Heavy dew' (The first character has the fanqie [澤減, *d-amX*]. The Mao Commentary to the Classic of Poetry states: '"Heavy" (湛湛) describes dew in abundance.' The Shuowen notes it derives from [the radical] 'water' and has the sound 甚. For the second character, 露, the Outer Commentary to the Han Poetry states: 'Dew (露) covers.' Jia Kui's commentary to the Guoyu states: 'Dew means to cover.' The Shuowen states: 'Dew means to moisten, referring to the fluid of heaven used to moisturize the myriad things; it derives from [the radical] "rain" and has the sound 路.').
