湔濯（上箭先反文字集略云洗污衣也下撞角反廣雅云濯洗也毛詩傳云滌也顧野王云浴也說文濯浣也從水翟聲翟音宅也）。

湔濯 (The first character has the fanqie phonetic spelling 箭 [jiàn] + 先 [xiān], [jiān]. The Wenzi jilüe says: "To wash soiled clothes." The second character has the fanqie phonetic spelling 撞 [zhuàng] + 角 [jiǎo], [zhuó]. The Guangya says: "'Zhuó' means to wash." The Mao Commentary to the Shijing says: "It means to cleanse." Gu Yewang says: "It means to bathe." The Shuowen says: "'Zhuó' means to wash. It takes 水 [water] as its radical and 翟 as its phonetic component." The phonetic reading of 翟 is 宅 [zhái]).
