闞迥（上堪濫反蒼頡篇云闞視也或從目作瞰訛義同說文從門敢聲下熒炅反爾雅迥遠也說文從辵冋聲也）。

闞迥 [overlooking the distance]: The first character is read with the fanqie kan + lan (kàn). The Cangjiepian says: 'Kàn means to look.' It is also erroneously written with the [semantic] radical 'eye' (目) as 瞰, with the same meaning. The Shuowen jiezi says it is composed of the [semantic] radical 'gate' (門) and the sound gǎn (敢). The second character is read with the fanqie ying + jiong (jiǒng). The Erya says: 'Jiǒng means distant.' The Shuowen jiezi says it is composed of the [semantic] radical 'movement' (辵) and the sound jiǒng (冋).
