西院 [western cloister]: The second character is read with the fanqie yuan + yuan (yuàn). Xu Shuzhong [Xu Shen] says: 'A yuàn is for observing the wind and rain; it also means an enclosing wall.' The Shuowen jiezi says it is composed of the [semantic] radical 'mound' (阜) and the sound wán (完); wán is pronounced huán. In the transmitted text it is written as 𨺙, which is an error.
