揣文 [conjecturing the text]: The first character is read with the fanqie chu + wei (chuǎi). Guo Pu's commentary on the Fangyan says: 'Chuǎi means to deliberate and accomplish.' The Zuozhuan has: 'Measuring the degree of height and lowliness.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Chuǎi means to measure. It is composed of the [semantic] radical 'hand' (手) and the sound zhuān (耑); zhuān is pronounced zhuan + huan.'
