聯鑣（上列纏反鄭玄注周禮云古為連皆作聯聲類云聯綿不絕也說文云聯連也從耳從𢇇連不絕也𢇇音思下表苗反前第十卷已釋訖）。

聯鑣 [riding bit by bit]: The first character is read with the fanqie lie + chan (lián). Zheng Xuan's commentary on the Zhouli says: 'In ancient times lián (連) was universally written as lián (聯).' The Shenglei says: 'Lián means unbroken continuity.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Lián means continuous. It is composed of the [semantic] radical 'ear' (耳) and the [semantic] radical 𢇇, continuous without break; 𢇇 is pronounced sī.' The second character is read with the fanqie biao + miao (biāo); it has already been explained above in fascicle 10.
