澄汰 (the second character has the fanqie da + dai [dài]; the Guangya says: "汰 [tài] means to wash." Guo [Puo's] commentary on the Erya says: "It means removing dirt with water." Xu Shuzhong's commentary on the Huainanzi says: "It means to reach / pass through." The Shuowen says: "It has the water radical and tai phonetic.")
