椎劾（上出隹反下恒尅反顧野王云劾按獄相告證之辭也亦辯獄之文按也鄭注周禮云辯獄訟異形之罪要之故史記云劾說文云劾法有罪也從刀亥聲傳從刃作劾誤也）。

Interrogating and prosecuting (椎劾: the first character is [pronounced with the fanqie] 出隹 [chuí]; the second character is [pronounced with the fanqie] 恒尅 [hé]. Gu Yewang states: '劾 refers to the statements of accusation and testimony in investigating a criminal case; it is also the written investigation in examining a trial.' Zheng's commentary on the Zhouli states: 'Distinguishing the different forms of crime in legal proceedings and summarizing them; thus the Shiji mentions 劾.' The Shuowen jiezi states: '劾 means finding guilty according to the law; it takes the "knife" radical and 亥 phonetic.' The transmitted text writing 劾 with the 'blade' radical is an error).
